Been awhile since my first/last posting. I've been moving for the last few weeks, so routines went out the window. Just getting them back now. I've moved to a beautiful place in Alameda, right by the sandy beach on the bay. My new place is light-filled and spacious, perfect for getting snspiration flowing.
Today, though is overcast and I found myself chafing at the dankness. The report on the death of 60-Minutes commentator Andy Rooney added sadness to the dank day. After all, Rooney was an icon and his death a reminder of our mortality. Yes, even an icon dies, and so do we.
I took a little time to do my daily 1-card tarot reading and got the 9 of Cups. The card (in the Deviant Tarot deck- my favorite) shows a man sitting on a beach with a crescent moon in the sky. He is rubbing a "magic" lantern from which a genie is emerging, arms crossed, clearly waiting for a command. The mans' mouth is open in surprise. Around the genie float 9 golden goblets. The meaning of this card is fulfillment of a dream or wish. After drawing the card, I tried to pinpoint what wish this could be, and realized, that as is most often the case with the cards, the massage was look to the positive, look to imagination, dream. Move the focus from a narrow view to the full reality of dreams, magic, and endless possibility. A good wake up reminder. A reminder to look beyond, to step into the magic and fire that's always present, the opening, the potentiality of every moment. The absolute newness of true reality. The stuff of art.
